Australian Made Week

Smitten is proud to create ethical fashion. What this means is that we know the conditions of the workers who make our clothes are good and fair.

To make sure of this we prioritise getting our clothing made locally in Tasmania so we can see first-hand the working conditions, get to know our sewing team and build a solid and respectful working relationship with such a crucial part of our business.

By getting our clothing made locally we also help to employ local Tasmanian people and create jobs right here in Australia plus keep valuable manufacturing skills here in our country.

This week (Monday 24 May 2021 to 30 May 2021) is Australian Made Week. It is the perfect time to prioritise buying clothes that are made in Australia. Be interested in the journey your clothes took to get to your hands- because I’m sure we can all agree the clothes aren’t worth it if it means the sacrifice of someone else’s life or even quality of life.
